As an artist, we try to push ourselves; to step outside of the box, to learn new tricks of the trade, and to get better. Lifestyle (as opposed to completely posed) sessions are my favorite. They are the bread and butter (aside from weddings). So when Katelynn asked me to come out to their beach house while on vacation, I was ecstatic. I knew this wouldn't be a "normal" session because she had mentioned she just wanted her family captured as they were. Honestly, that is the best kind of session.
Enter a harsh sun with a white, sandy beach with no cover - and you have a whole new playing field of capturing this session and editing. It stretched me and created a different type of look from my usual edits (which, I love!). In the end, all of it turned out to represent this family as they are - vibrant, full of life, and fun!
